A bilateral agreement has been signed to create a Geographical Information System and compile thematic maps of the Yukhari Bash National Historical-Architectural Reserve, which is the historical center of Shaki and is included in the UNESCO World Heritage List. Within the framework of cooperation between the State Tourism Agency of the Republic of Azerbaijan and CASPIAN GEOMATICS, an informative electronic database was created using various data on the project (satellite images, orthophotoplans, various cartographic materials, etc.). In the created geoinformation system, all spatial objects and their data were collected and systematized within the project boundaries. At the same time, on the basis of GIS, many thematic digital maps on various topics were compiled on the territory of the “Yukhari Bash” National Historical-Architectural Reserve.
It should be noted that the City Regeneration Plan is being prepared by the State Tourism Agency of the Republic of Azerbaijan in cooperation with the experts of the World Heritage Committee.
