ENGINEERING & HYDROLOGICAL SURVEY ON THE BANANIYAR CANAL

Hydrological survey, GIS, SCADA consulting, DEM and DTM, mapping, geology, exploration & drilling, geodetic surveying.

A contract was signed with the company that won the tender. According to the contract, CASPIAN GEOMATICS carried out prospecting works and hydrological survey, SCADA consulting services were provided within “Preparation of feasibility study and submittals for the reconstruction of the canal feeds the Bananiyar reservoir (Alinjachay)” project.

Issues that were raised and resolved:

  • topographic surveying along the Bananiyar canal (7.7 km);
  • geodetic surveying of the alternative project lines (1.8km and 2.25km);
  • GPS static surveys and leveling on geodetic benchmarks;
  • design profiles of the Bananiyar canal and alternative project lines;
  • DTM / DEM, CAD / GIS mapping;
  • 3D modeling of the Bananiyar canal;
  • installation of geodetic benchmarks, determination of coordinates and elevations;
  • topographic mapping of Bananiyar canal and two alternative project lines;
  • determination of locations for water measuring equipment in the channel & provision of consulting services on SCADA design;
  • hydrological surveys of Alinjachay;
  • geological drilling (220 p.m.) and sampling, soil laboratory analyzes;
  • creation of geological-lithological columns and profiles;
  • water pumping works on boreholes, calculation of hydrogeological parameters;

Firstly, we excavated 40 pits in the area, including 40 pits with a depth of 5 m, 2 geological boreholes with a depth of 10 m, and the total volume of the excavation and drilling were 220 p.m. Secondly, we have conducted engineering topographic surveys of two alternative project lines (lengths 1.8 km and 2.25 km). In addition, we determined the locations of water measuring devices in the canal and provided consulting services on SCADA design.

In conclusion, during the hydrological studies of Alinjachay, the annual flow, hydrographic characteristics, maximum and minimum flow, dependent discharges, water consumption of hydrotechnical equipment, maximum water consumption of rain floods were studied by specialists. As a result, hydrology specialists analysed long-term period water consumption of Alinjachay’s, calculated statistical parameters and values.
